CBSE seeks students to get aware of career options in armed forces

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is on the move to endorse the cause of the armed forces by adding subject in affiliated schools. The board asked teachers to emphasize on a career prospects the armed forces has with it and make students of Classes 11 and 12 incline towards it.
The CBSE offers a compulsory subject named 'General Foundation Course' for all Classes 11 and 12 students.
The course is designed in a way to improve students' general knowledge and awareness level for current affairs. Two periods in a week must be put aside to hold discussions with students on career options available for them.
According to CBSE’s latest circular to principals of affiliated schools, the board had decided that all affiliated schools must provide right guidance to students of senior secondary classes about the potential career options open to them. The letter further says emphatically that the schools must expose students to the challenging and satisfying career in the armed forces under the 'General Foundation Course.
Under this quest, schools have also been asked to visit the official websites of the Indian Army (indianarmy.nic.in), Indian Air Force (careerairforce.nic.in) and the Indian Navy (nausena-bharti.nic.in) in order to dig out motivational stuff.
