The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an announcement for schools, mentioning that question papers for the school-based summative assessment 2 (SA-II) can be downloaded through a secured web link from the 03 March 2014 onwards. The SA-II is basically the final examination for Class IX and X following the CBSE's comprehensive and continuous evaluation (CCE) scheme.
The other mode of examinations opted by students of Class X i.e. Boards will not be affected by the SA-II developments. It is also advised to Schools to make certain that the date-sheet for board and school-based SA-II are dissimilar.
CBSE is adopting the conversion of most of its processes online, for a faster and secure access by all the schools. Hence, CBSE’S own portal -- CBSE Integrated Test Management System (CBSE-ITMS) is equipped with a question Bank that comprises lakhs of question. The system also produces 2 unique question paper sets for each subject. The CBSE-ITMS will make sure that every school across the nation receives a unique question paper and also through the online delivery mode the paper leakage will diminish to occur.
Schools can download the question papers March 3 onwards, and the SA-II may be conducted from March 10. This year downloaded question Papers will be only in MS-Word format so that data or questions could be edited by schools, if needed.
Regarding the marking scheme the CBSE will provide a pattern to schools for the same from 17 March 2014.
Schools have the liberty to frame their own date-sheet for school-based SA-II and that is why the online delivery of question paper will ease the process.
A circular issued by CBSE also mentioned that CBSE will support schools to download online question papers for class IX & X, in chief subjects only, which are English communicative, English language & literature, Hindi Course A & B, Mathematics, Science, Social Science And Communicative Sanskrit.
