In a recent meeting, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) has decided to not to go online for JEE-Advanced 2014. Following the trend of past years, JEE-Advanced aspirants will continue to have a paper-pencil test in 2014.
Members of the JAB, the highest body that takes decisions on admissions to IITs, said that the JEE-Advanced 2014 will be conducted keeping up with the pattern of 2013. However, the board will soon set up an ad-hoc committee to study and design the computer-based exam process in order to implement it in future.
NK Panigrahi, the chairman of JEE-Advanced 2014, said, "There will no changes for the 2014 exams. We intend to follow a systematic approach before implementing the online test process. The board will set up a committee to study the online process and only then will implement it in future," said.
JEE-Advanced 2014 is scheduled to be held tentatively on 25 May, a week earlier as compared to last year. According to sources, the JEE-Main may be conducted on 06 April 2014, but CBSE will announce the confirm date soon.
